Does Ellie read my emails?
No. Ellie doesn’t access your emails directly. You can provide Ellie with example emails to help it learn your writing style, and when replying to a thread Ellie will read the most recent replies to gain context and craft a relevant response.
How does Ellie save me time when managing emails?
Ellie automates the reply-writing process, learns your writing style from your previous sent emails, and uses the thread context to generate fast, personal, and accurate replies. This lets you respond in minutes and focus on other tasks.
What browsers/extensions does Ellie run on?
Ellie is available as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. You can download the extension from the downloads page.
What email clients are supported?
Gmail, Outlook, and Fastmail are fully supported. The toolbar popup can be used to generate replies for other web-based clients, and full support for additional clients is planned. For Apple Mail, see the popup usage in help.
How many replies can I generate per day, and are there limits?
Reply limits depend on your plan:
- Casual (personal): about 25 replies per day
- Business (teams): up to 100 replies per day
- Professional: unlimited replies per day
Higher limits come with paid plans to accommodate larger workloads.
How does Ellie learn from my data?
Ellie learns your writing style by analyzing your past sent emails. You can also provide documents or URLs for Ellie to learn from, and it will incorporate relevant information into its replies when appropriate.
I don’t want Ellie to read my private emails—what about privacy?
Your email replies are used only to generate responses. Ellie doesn’t store your email data and you won’t have it shared or sold. The product is built around user data privacy, with the aim of protecting your information.
How does teaching Ellie new information work?
You can provide Ellie with documents or URLs. Ellie will read them to learn and, if it determines the information is relevant to the current reply, it will include that information in its response.
What languages does Ellie support?
Ellie is multilingual and will reply in the language of the incoming email to match the conversation. It supports languages such as French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and German, among others.
What are the pricing plans and what do they include?
- Free trial: 7-day free trial, no credit card required. Access to Chrome/Firefox/Edge extension, and basic features.
- Casual (personal): $19 per month; includes a defined daily reply limit (about 25), intelligent AI model, email training, basic knowledge base training, and roles; extension access and trial included.
- Business (teams): $39 per month per seat; direct integration, up to 100 replies per day, intelligent AI model, email training, advanced knowledge base training, auto-draft, auto-categorise, roles, team sharing, 3 seats included, 1 connected account per user, email support.
- Professional (large teams/enterprise): $79 per month per seat; direct integration, unlimited replies, intelligent AI model, email training, knowledge base training, roles, team sharing, 5 seats included, 3 connected accounts per user, priority support.
All plans include access to the Chrome and Firefox extensions and multilingual support.
How do I sign up for tryellie.com?
- Visit tryellie.com and choose to sign up.
- Obtain a licence key (a free license key is available; check your spam if you don’t see it).
- Install the Ellie extension for Chrome or Firefox.
- Open the extension settings, enter your name and the licence key, and save.
- Start using Ellie in your email provider (e.g., Gmail) to craft replies. Provide example sent emails to help Ellie learn your style.
How do I activate Ellie after purchase?
After payment you will receive a licence key which is used to activate the browser extension.
