How long does setup take?
Setup takes just a few minutes. Install the app from the Shopify App Store, authorize the connection, and we’ll automatically sync your products, inventory, and order history. Most stores are fully set up in under 10 minutes.
What data do I need and how much history is required?
We automatically import your products, inventory, and 12+ months of order history. For forecasts, we recommend at least 6 months of history for basic forecasting and 12+ months for optimal accuracy with seasonal patterns. If you have less data, you can still get valuable insights, though some limitations may apply.
How does Forthcast forecast demand?
Forthcast uses AI-powered forecasting to predict demand for the next 6 months by analyzing your sales history, seasonality, and trends. It continuously refines forecasts and can adjust for past stockouts to reflect true demand.
Do you support Shopify variants and bundles?
Yes. Forthcast handles variants and bundles seamlessly. We track each variant separately, and our bundle management prevents double-counting demand across bundle components.
What is Safety Stock and how is it calculated?
Safety stock levels are automatically calculated based on demand variability, supplier lead times, and your desired service level. This helps prevent stockouts while avoiding unnecessary excess inventory.
What is Reorder Point and how does it work?
Reorder points trigger low stock alerts when inventory drops below your defined threshold. Calculations account for supplier lead times and forecasted demand to help you reorder in time.
Can I manage Purchase Orders in Forthcast?
Yes. You can create, track, and manage purchase orders for your Shopify inventory directly in the app. You can export purchase orders to CSV or send them to suppliers with one click.
How does Stockout Prevention work?
Stockout Prevention automatically detects past stockouts and adjusts forecasts to reflect true demand, not just what you happened to have in stock.
What is Bundle Tracking for inventory?
Bundle Tracking shows true inventory needs for component products across all bundles, helping you avoid double-counting demand and miscounting stock.
What are Low Stock Alerts and how do they work?
Low Stock Alerts are included in the plan (Low Stock Email Alerts). You’ll get notifications when stock levels fall below your reorder thresholds so you can act quickly.
Can I export data or integrate with other systems?
Yes. All reports can be exported to CSV, and purchase orders can be exported and sent directly to suppliers. We’re also adding more integrations based on customer requests.
How much does Forthcast cost and what is the trial?
There is one simple plan: $19.99/month with no hidden fees and unlimited products. It includes 6-month demand forecasts, safety stock, reorder points, purchase order management, bundle tracking, low stock alerts, lost sales reports, and priority support. It includes a 14-day free trial with no per-SKU charges.
What happens after the free trial ends?
After your 14-day trial, you’ll be prompted to subscribe to continue using Forthcast. If you choose not to subscribe, your data will be retained for 30 days. No credit card is required to start the trial.

Forthcast is built by supply chain experts. The founder is Hylke Reitsma, who holds a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management and has driven inventory excellence at Shell Recharge Solutions, Verisure, and Stryker.
