What is LlamaChat and what can I do with it?
LlamaChat is a Mac app that lets you chat with LLaMA family models (LLaMA, Alpaca, GPT4All, and more) directly on your Mac, running locally. It’s 100% free and open-source, built with llama.cpp and llama.swift, and supports importing your own model files. Vicuna support is coming soon. LlamaChat does not include any model files—you provide the appropriate models yourself.
Which models are supported by LlamaChat?
LlamaChat supports Alpaca, GPT4All, LLaMA, and others, with Vicuna coming soon. You can run these models locally on your Mac, and you’ll need to obtain and load the appropriate model files yourself.
What formats does LlamaChat support for importing models, and can I import my own models?
LlamaChat can import raw published PyTorch model checkpoints and pre-converted .ggml model files. You are responsible for obtaining and integrating the appropriate model files in accordance with their providers’ terms.
What are the system requirements to run LlamaChat?
LlamaChat requires macOS 13 or later and runs on both Intel processors and Apple Silicon. It does not include any model files; you must obtain and load the model files yourself.
