What does VisitorType do?
VisitorType helps you handle the “two audiences” problem by separating human visitors from AI traffic. With one dependency-free snippet and GTM-style rules, you can detect who is visiting, then serve each type differently without redeploying your stack.
It classifies visits into human, AI crawlers, AI search bots, assistant fetchers, and agentic browsers using a curated agent registry plus behavioral signals, including server-side tracking for crawlers that don’t run JavaScript. It also supports targeting outcomes like triggering analytics for humans only and pointing AI agents to llms.txt.
After installation, you can control what’s measured and what’s shown using versioned configurations (no code changes required). You can also view which agents visit, which pages they read, and which tags fired, or use the built-in MCP server to ask your own AI to summarize activity.
