What does Talat do?

talat is a local, private transcription app for meetings, dictation, and recordings on macOS and Windows. Everything you say is transcribed and stored on your own computer. No audio is uploaded, no account is required, nothing trains on your conversations, and it works fully offline.

It records your mic and system audio, auto-starts on Zoom, Teams and Meet calls with a visible notice, transcribes live as people speak, and identifies who said what, learning voices across meetings. When a meeting ends you get a summary, action points, chapters and a title from a built-in local model, or bring your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

Press a hotkey to dictate into any app, or import existing audio and video through the same on-device pipeline. Calendar sync, an MCP server, webhooks and Markdown, PDF and Obsidian export connect it to your existing tools.

10 hours free, then $9 a month or $189 once. Built by a team of two.
