What does CtrlOps do?

CtrlOps is a local-first desktop application for managing Linux servers from a single dashboard. It combines an AI Terminal, file management, multi-server SSH management, and deployment workflows so you can deploy, debug, and manage server changes without context switching.

The AI Terminal turns natural language requests into bash commands, shows what will run, and supports an approval-first workflow before execution. You can also use it to explain command output in plain English and get context help for common server tasks.

CtrlOps runs entirely on your machine. Your SSH keys, server IPs, and credentials stay local—no agents and no cloud keys—while CtrlOps connects directly to your servers over SSH. Features like one-click deployments, backups, and script reuse help streamline day-to-day operations across environments.

Does CtrlOps run locally or does it require an agent on my servers?

CtrlOps is designed to run fully on your machine and doesn’t require installing an agent on your servers. It connects directly to servers over SSH.

How does the AI Terminal work when I want to run commands?

You can describe what you need in plain English, and CtrlOps generates bash commands. It provides a preview of what will run so you can approve before execution.

Can I manage multiple servers in one place?

Yes. CtrlOps supports multi-server management from one unified dashboard, including named servers for switching between environments.

Does CtrlOps require AWS/GCP/Azure cloud credentials or cloud keys?

No cloud keys are required. You only need an SSH key, and CtrlOps connects via SSH without needing provider-specific credentials.

What server management features are included beyond the AI Terminal?

You get an SSH management layer, a file manager, backups, deployment workflows (including one-click deployments), and a place to save and reuse scripts.

Is this limited to one cloud provider or does it work with any VPS?

It’s not tied to a specific provider. CtrlOps connects to servers over SSH, so it can manage fleets across different hosting environments as long as SSH is available.
