What does Talkfirst do?

Talkfirst is a speaking-first voice trainer for adults learning English, Polish, Lithuanian (and Czech in beta). Instead of starting with grammar, you begin talking immediately—choosing a ready-made scene or starting a conversation on your own topic.

In each voice session, an AI conversation partner keeps the interaction going. Afterward, you get practical feedback to show where you paused, where you stumbled, and how to deliver the whole phrase more smoothly. You can also practice pronunciation in a word-by-word way by speaking a phrase and reviewing your results.

Beyond conversation, Talkfirst builds vocabulary with spaced-repetition flashcards and quizzes, including listening and speaking practice. Flashcards can be reviewed in a calm “Zen” mode. For ongoing learning, there are short audio lessons with slides (one new lecture a day for Polish and Lithuanian) and a daily plan that tracks pace toward your target level and date.

Talkfirst also includes mock exams you can practice out loud, such as Lithuanian A2 residency speaking and writing, Lithuanian Constitution questions, Polish B1 speaking, and Czech A2 speaking (beta).

Pricing/Plans: Free includes 35 voice minutes per week and 3 conversation scenes. Pro includes 140 voice minutes per week, every conversation scene, and your own conversation topics.

Do I need to know grammar to start using Talkfirst?

No. You can start speaking from day one and get guidance through conversation feedback, translations, and explanations in English, Russian, or Ukrainian.

What happens after I finish a voice conversation?

You’ll see where you paused before words and for how long, plus feedback on mistakes and how to say the whole phrase without stopping.

How do pronunciation and speaking practice work?

You speak a phrase and receive word-by-word pronunciation feedback from speech recognition, and you can also practice saying phrases from memory.

How does Talkfirst help me learn vocabulary?

Words and phrases from lessons and conversations go into spaced-repetition flashcards, with quizzes to check recognition, recall, listening, and speaking.

Which languages are available, and is Czech included?

You can practice English, Polish, and Lithuanian. Czech is available as a beta option.

What are the Free and Pro plans?

Free offers 35 voice minutes per week and 3 conversation scenes. Pro offers 140 voice minutes per week, every conversation scene, and your own conversation topics.
