What does PaperCheck do?

PaperCheck is an independent pre-submission checker that helps you assess whether your draft may contain AI-generated or AI-paraphrased text, alongside a similarity report. Upload your document (DOCX, PDF, TXT, or RTF) to receive an “official Turnitin AI + similarity report” within 5–15 minutes for most files.

After upload, PaperCheck applies privacy protections by stripping identifying metadata and deleting files from its servers within 24 hours. Reports remain accessible for 30 days, then they’re removed.

Use the plain-English explanations tied to flagged sections to review and revise with confidence. AI detection can make mistakes, so treat the report as a prompt for human review—not as proof of misconduct.

What does PaperCheck return after I upload my draft?

You get a combined Turnitin AI report and a similarity report, with explanations for flagged sections so you can decide what to revise.

How long does a full check take?

Most reports complete in 5–15 minutes, with 99% typically finishing within 30 minutes.

Will my file be stored in a university repository or plagiarism database?

No. Your upload is processed privately, identifying metadata is removed, and the file is deleted within 24 hours. It’s not added to any repository.

Is PaperCheck affiliated with Turnitin LLC?

No. PaperCheck is an independent service and is not affiliated with Turnitin LLC.

Can AI detection flag human writing?

Yes. AI detectors can produce false positives, so the score should guide review and editing—not automatic conclusions.

What file types and length can I upload?

Supported formats include DOCX, PDF, TXT, and RTF. The supported length range is 300–30,000 words, with a maximum file size of 20 MB.
