What does Mimic Party do?
Mimic Party Online is a free browser voice game where you hear a short reference cue once, press record, and try to copy its voice shape. You’ll get a local score that focuses on the rise and fall of your voice, along with timing and energy—not just whether you hit the exact pitch.
Each round is fast: listen, record one take, and then replay your recording before the score appears. Packs range from animal calls and meme clips to everyday noises and more, so you can pick a style and jump in.
In survival mode, you get a bigger challenge: one pack, 50 references, and three Mic lives. Passing references builds streaks and Party Points; missing a target costs a life, and if the scorer can’t get a clear read, you can try that same reference again.
Local-first by design—recordings stay on your device. No accounts, no servers listening, and nothing is uploaded; your recordings are released when you close the tab. Works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile.
Do I need a microphone to play Mimic Party Online?
Yes. You press record and the game uses your microphone input to capture your imitation for scoring.
Are my recordings uploaded anywhere?
No. The game is local-first: nothing is uploaded, and nothing is listened to on a server. Your recordings remain on your device and are released when you close the tab.
How long is Mimic Party Online survival mode?
Survival mode is a 50-sound run. You keep going until your three Mic lives run out.
What does the score measure?
The scorer compares your take’s voice shape to the reference, including melody movement, timing, attack, and energy. Pitch alone isn’t the whole score.
Why did my take get no score?
A take can fail if it’s too short, too quiet, clipped, or buried in background noise. If the scorer can’t get a clear read, you’ll get the same reference again without losing a life.
What happens when I lose a Mic life?
When you miss a reference, one of your three Mic lives is gone. The next reference still comes up, and you can continue until all lives are used.
