AI Soundscapes Generator

What is Endel and what does it do?
Endel creates personalized, real-time soundscapes to help you focus, relax, and sleep. It uses inputs like time of day, weather, heart rate, and location to adapt the soundscape, backed by neuroscience. The app features two main content types: Soundscapes (endlessly generated on-device) and Scenarios (predefined, timed sessions). Endel is available across platforms including iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Mac, Windows, Web, Alexa, and TV.
How does Endel help with focus and productivity?
Endel builds focus with real-time, personalized soundscapes that adapt to your environment and cognitive needs. This approach supports longer, more consistent focus and can maintain a high listening engagement. Desktop users can experience up to a 7x increase in sustained focus with scientifically validated soundscapes.
How does Endel help with sleep?
Endel Sleep soundscapes gently guide you toward sleep with soft, calming sounds. The app supports screen-free sleep with smart speakers (e.g., Alexa), routines, and automations to help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling rested.
How does Endel help with relaxation and stress relief?
Endel calms the mind and creates feelings of comfort and safety through real-time, personalized soundscapes backed by neuroscience. Regular use is associated with reduced stress, supported by peer-reviewed research comparing Endel to playlists or silence.
What is the difference between Soundscapes and Scenarios?
Soundscapes are endlessly generated on-device based on inputs like time of day, weather, cadence, and biometric data. Scenarios are predefined, timed sound sessions with initial, middle, and end phases designed for specific tasks or occasions.
What inputs does Endel use to customize soundscapes?
Endel uses real-time inputs such as time of day, weather, heart rate, and location to tailor soundscapes. On Apple Watch, it can also incorporate heart rate data and light exposure (biometric data) to personalize the sounds further.
What platforms and devices does Endel support?
Endel supports a wide range of platforms and devices:
- iOS and Android mobile apps
- Apple Watch
- Mac and Windows desktop apps
- Web player
- Alexa-enabled devices (Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Alexa App)

Is Endel tuned to a specific frequency and does it use binaural beats?
Endel’s sound is tuned to 440 Hz. There is a Binaural Beats Scenario in the app, while other sounds do not use binaural beats. Binaural beats require stereo headphones to be heard properly.
Is Endel scientifically proven?
Yes. Endel’s Soundscapes and Scenarios are based on scientific research in sound, neuroscience, and circadian science, and there is peer‑reviewed research backing Endel’s efficiency versus playlists and silence.
Why do I need a subscription?

What about circadian and ultradian cycles?
The circadian and ultradian cycles describe daily energy rhythms. Endel can help mitigate their negative effects with sound, for example by adjusting Focus sounds during low circadian periods to be stimulating but not overly intense, helping you ease into work when energy is lower.
Do I need headphones for certain Endel features?
Binaural Beats require stereo headphones. For other Endel sounds, headphones are not strictly required, but using headphones can enhance the intended auditory effects, especially for binaural content.
