What does Upub do?
upub turns fixed PDF pages into real, reflowable EPUB text. Instead of shrinking a paper page onto a six-inch screen, it rebuilds the book: reading order, chapters, headings, footnotes and images. Running headers and page numbers are removed from the text flow.
Scanned PDFs are supported through AI-assisted OCR. Every page gets a confidence score, and pages that could not be verified are flagged in a downloadable quality report, so there are no silent errors.
Besides PDF, upub accepts DOCX, HTML, Markdown, images and audio. Output is validated EPUB 3, with 23 device profiles for Kindle, Kobo (native KEPUB), Apple Books, PocketBook, Onyx Boox and reMarkable. Text in any language is supported, including right-to-left and CJK scripts.
