What does SayLift do?
SayLift turns spoken workout notes into a fully logged session. Hold the mic, talk through what you lifted (exercise, sets, reps, and weight), then review the results and edit anything before saving.
The app includes 873 exercises with instructions and photos (available offline) and a “progressive-overload coach” that helps determine what to lift next based on your logged history. You can also log by hand with a rest timer, including warm-up, drop, and failure set types.
SayLift supports editable routines on the Profile tab, a Today screen for your training day, and cloud backup/restore. A home screen widget lets you start a voice log with one tap. It requires iOS 17 or later and runs as a subscription ($49.99/year, or $7.99/month, or $3.99/week in the US) after a 3-day free trial.
How does voice logging in SayLift work?
After you finish a set or your session, hold the mic and speak what you lifted (e.g., exercise, sets, reps, and weight). SayLift turns your sentence into a structured workout you can review and edit before it saves.
Do I have to type between sets?
No. The fastest flow is to log your session by speaking once instead of tapping through every set form. Manual logging is available if you prefer to tap.
Does SayLift include a rest timer when I log by hand?
Yes. When you tick a set in manual logging, it starts a countdown rest timer that can be customized and can buzz when it hits zero.
Can I mark warm-up, drop, and failure sets?
Yes. You can set any set type to warm-up, drop set, or set to failure. Warm-ups don’t count toward personal records or the coach’s next working weight.
Does SayLift work offline?
Mostly. The app keeps your exercises (with instructions and photos), workout history, and the progress dashboard on-device and works without a connection, while voice logging and routine import require internet.
Is there Apple Health sync?
Not in the current version. Workouts are not synced to Apple Health, and readiness data isn’t read from it.
