What does Dawnwood do?
Dawnwood helps you create a vertical short-drama series from a simple premise. Auto mode writes a full 10-episode season, casts consistent characters, builds the sets, and films and cuts each episode one at a time. You stay in control—scripts and outlines are shown to you before filming, so nothing is rendered without your approval.
Key features focus on keeping the same characters and look across every episode. You get a season “bible” with main characters, goals, and a 10-episode outline, plus scripts for each episode. When you approve an episode, Dawnwood generates character design elements (faces, wardrobe, and voices), produces the shot sequence, edits the episode with voiceover and captioning in 9:16, and prepares it as a platform-ready package for publishing.
Dawnwood is built for independent creators and AI video studios working on vertical-drama production that needs continuity across shots and episodes. You can pause jobs, edit story and scripts for free, and fix issues in the wake of watching (for example, correcting a detail at a specific timestamp). There’s also an Advanced mode that shifts the full workflow into a more studio-like pipeline with more manual checkpoints.
Pricing is credit-based. New signups get 500 credits for free for 30 days. Writing, casting, and QC cost nothing—credits are used for rendered output. Plans bundle monthly credits (Free trial, Creator, Studio, and Pro), and you can also buy one-time credit packs. A full pricing page and rate card are available on Dawnwood.
What does Dawnwood create for me?
It creates a vertical short-drama season: a written season plan and episode scripts, then consistent character casting, sets, filming, editing, and captions for each 9:16 episode.
How does Auto mode keep me in control?
Each episode’s script and outline are available for your review before filming. You can edit freely; saving approves. You can also let it continue automatically once you’re happy.
Can I pause or resume the workflow?
Yes. You can pause so no new jobs start and no further credits are used until you resume; jobs already running are allowed to finish.
What happens if something looks wrong after I watch?
You can fix it by describing the change (e.g., what should happen at a specific timestamp). Dawnwood tells you what it will redo and roughly how many credits it will take before it starts.
How is pricing handled—do I pay to write and cast?
Writing, casting, and QC cost nothing. You pay for rendered output using credits, and failed generations are never charged.
Is there a free way to start?
Yes. Sign up to receive 500 credits for 30 days, and writing/casting/QC won’t use credits.
